Ways to Give

Giving Update:
To maintain the tax deductibility of any offering, IRS regulations require that the giver relinquish control of the funds and entrust the church with control of their use at its discretion. To protect our non-profit status, the church always strives to remain compliant with IRS regulations.

• Gifts with designations should be toward various church needs and those related to the Lord's move by indicating in the ‘memo’ area. For IRS compliance, gifts (by check or electronic) having a person’s name in the ‘memo’ area will be returned.

• If such a designation is received by Zelle, an email will be sent to the donor to indicate the gift is being returned by Zelle due to a person’s name present in the ’memo’ area.

• Should you receive a return, you may simply make the gift again without a person’s name in the ‘memo’ area or designate the NEEDY SAINTS FUND as follows.

Giving to Needy Saints‍:

• We encourage giving liberally to care for the needy saints. (Rom. 12:13). Designate your gift to the NEEDY SAINTS FUND in the ‘memo’ area. Offerings designated for this fund will be used at the discretion of the leading brothers as they become aware of needs among the saints.

• If you feel to make the leading brothers aware of a particular needy saint’s situation, after making your gift please send an email to brothers@thechurchinkaty.org‍ ‍describing the situation to take into consideration. This email goes to certain leading brothers. Feel free to email any questions to the same email address.

• If you prefer, we always encourage direct fellowship with a leading brother concerning these matters.

• If you are already familiar with how to use a Zelle QR code, please scan this QR code (you will need a second device to scan this code from the device you are using).

The easiest way to donate is through your bank account via Zelle.

1. The church’s Zelle account is: saintsinkaty—this is what you will type into Zelle. The registered name is “THE CHURCH IN KATY” as the recipient. Review the picture on the right to see how it should look like.

2. There are no transaction fees for either party.

3. Typically an area is provided where designations can be added, if needed, and donations can be set up as recurring.

4. Once you’ve entered in the church’s Zelle name and confirmed the recipient, you may be asked to confirm your payment with a confirmation code that will be sent to your phone and then your payment will go through.

Instructions:

1. Make your check payable to THE CHURCH IN KATY

2. In the ‘Memo’ area of the check, you may designate how the funds may be used

3. However, it is best to attach a note for any suggested designations

4. As per IRS rules, your check cannot have a designation to any individual saint in the ‘Memo’ area

5. Note: Designating a check to a specific named saint violates IRS rules, and the check will be returned to you. Please refer to the Giving to Needy Saints tab above for more details
